Increasingly I find it difficult to wrap my head (or my body) around the change in seasons. The order of time decrees that our years feel shorter the older we get — each year becoming a smaller fraction of how long we’ve been alive. And more and more so I’m getting anxious about how much I can fit into a day. Especially when the sun sets at 4pm. I like to at least think that this is motivating me. Anyway I’m not too happy that it’s 5 degrees out. But I also just had a giant scoop of ice cream so 🤷🏻‍♀️ life goes on.

This is salted fish. In Cantonese, you call someone a salted fish when they’re being useless. Technically they refer to dead bodies as salted fish (not entirely sure why that is, you’ll have to look this up). But essentially if you’re sitting on your ass with no will to do something with your life, just waiting for something to happen, they say “you’re no different from a salted fish”. So ask yourself - are you taking steps? Are you fighting for something? Are you making the most of your time in this world? If yes, do more. If not do something. Don’t be a salted fish. 🐟
